Built in 1898, the building on the corner of 2nd and Main streets has been home to a few entities. But for me (and my family), it is a special place. After being home to my grandparents' grocery store for years, it became one of the many crumbling buildings in small towns across the country. As I chose to move back to the area to contribute to the community, I also looked for a project.
I found that when I purchased the old store in June. While I failed in getting some of the very most "before" pictures, here are a few. Please take note, these are after hours of work of removing items throughout the building. Garbage cans full. Truck loads. Three counters in the back and a couple near the front windows.
Curious? Wondering what I am thinking? Stay tuned for more information - if you don't already know!
(And thank you for all of the words of encouragement!)
- Marcus
